Virtue Spiritual Healing
Spiritual Healing is one of the many “spiritual gifts” recorded in the Holy scriptures (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). It is written these gifts are “given by the same spirit,” meaning the same source. We are taught that a divine spirit or source flows through all living things. This life force is connected to the supernatural creative, life-giving force of God Almighty. It is powerful, silent and invisible, able to create great things. Our life force within is much the same. We can direct it, but never control it.
Our example is taken from Luke 8:46 where we discover its name. “And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me; for I perceive that Virtue is gone out of me.” Jesus was walking in a crowd of people and no one knew who reached out in the crowd and touched his garment. When he demanded to know who it was “A woman declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately” (Luke 8:47). She did not ask for permission, nor did Jesus appear to have willed this to happen, which implies thatVirtue has its own consciousness and decides, all by itself, when and to whom a healing will occur. “Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace” (Luke 8:48).
Our faith is strengthened when we see evidence of these invisible spiritual gifts and through this evidence begin to believe there really is a God or a spiritual world. We believe that in gathering together, this energy is amplified and can affect truly miraculous healing, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).
